This is going to be a lengthy review - worth the time to read!
The evening the job was complete, my husband noticed an abundance of standing water near the inground pool light switch. We had to assume that something was accidently broken during repairs and I emailed Estes electric immediately (this was on the 4th of July) - I had an immediate phone call the following business day and the owner, Gary, was so pleasant and assured me he would be out to look at the issue the following morning. Gary came to my home and dug a small trench and noticed that the pipes were cracked at the bottom - possibly happening from the straightening of the box. The very next day he had Matt and Jorge back at my home and they repaired the damage with no further questions asked. These two electricians are superb!
Last Monday I made an appointment to meet a contractor from Estes Electric to move some electrical outlets at a new space we leased in Waxahachie. A woman from Estes called me to set the appointment for this Tuesday. Today I called to confirm my appointment for tomorrow and ended up speaking to the rudest woman in Waxahachie. She denied my having an appointment and doubted that I actually spoke to anyone in her office. She talked over me and eventually hung up. I called back to ask to speak to the owner. She said she is the owner. I told her I was glad that they didn't show my appointment if she was the owner of the business. DO NOT CALL!!!!!! We are new to the area, opening a new business to service the people of Waxahachie and this is the WELCOME we got from Estes Electric. Had I read the reviews below, prior to calling, I would have saved myself the trouble of the call.
I called with a couple of electrical problems in the barn on my new house. Herbie squeezed me in within two hours of my call. Matt and his helper came out and fixed both of my problems in record time. Thought that I had at least $1500.00 worth of work, and wound up with a $225.00 bill. Needless to say, they are now my electrical contractor of choice. Thanks Estes!
All in all - this is an honest company and it's so hard to find good, honest people now days. Please, if you ever need any kind of electrical work - call Estes. While mistakes happen, these people were wonderful about repairing and they did it timely. I could not be any more pleased with this wonderful company!!
I initially called Estes electric out to my home to install an electrical outlet on my patio for an outdoor TV. Herb came out on the scheduled date to provide me a no-obligation quote. While he was out, I had him look at my inground pool light box that had been hit by a mower with the previous owners of the house - the cover was coming off and I assumed electric and water were not a good mix. Herb advised that we could definitely repair the box (sit it back straight in the ground and put a new cover on it) and while he was at it, he went ahead and checked the GFI without me even asking - Thank goodness he did as the GFI wasn't tripping - this could have been bad!
Thumbs down on this inflexible business. They came to my house to find out why outlet for dishwasher did not work. They found a switch that had been turned off. They charged me $90 for no work done apart from pointing out my stupidity. They deserved to be paid for their time but I felt $90 was too much. They were unwilling to compromise for the $50 I offered them. They refused and demanded the $90. As a businessman myself I make compromises for simple work done and simple mistakes. I will never use them again.
Herb provided a quote and sent two electricians out to complete the agreed upon work. Matt and Jorge came over and worked very diligently and quickly. What was quoted as a two hours job took these guys just half the time.
I needed electricity in my barn. I called multiple electrical contractors and some set up an appointment to come out and never showed, others showed up to give me an estimate and promised I would have it the next day but I never received any estimate. Estes came out to give me an estimate, actually provided me with the estimate and I had them do the work. The crew doing the work was excellent and they finished everything ahead of schedule and the work done was outstanding. Next time I need any electrical work done I will know exactly who to call!
